hey guys

a mate of mine has a kingfisher stimulator low mount out of south africa and i was just wondering if anyone new of another rod in this unusual configuation.
he bought it for quobba last year and it proved to be an absolute gem! it came with a 1 meter rod tube that he strapped to the side of his back pack when we were humping it around the place. I also saw him flick a bag of sharkies out onto garths without the the thing even creaking!( see pic attached)

its just about time to head up again and would'nt mind getting myself somthing like this, i can get one the same but where would the fun be in that
i use a ugly stick 10footer for soaking baits so this set up would be designate spin out fit.

failing a result in the 3 peice configuration ive seen a lot of good reports here about the 6810/6811 but also like the shimano starlo's has anyone used one of these?

cheers russ

Paul Willis was bringing in the 3pce Stimulater rods for a while. I got one off him and I reckon they are OK.
Not sure if he still does them but if he does it's worth getting one.

The Loomis is a 3 piece rod, that is more than capable of doing the job.

Russell, dunno if they still do 'em, but local rod building and tackle wholesaler Ozflex use to build 3 pce 10''ish rods.

They were built on Oz built grahite composite blanks with all quality components.

Give 'em a call on 9310 2280 (Bullcreek number), they'll be able to tell you who's got 'em stock.  I think there's a 6kg and a 10kg model, nice, grunty rods.  And you're buying an Oz product, if they're still made.

G'luck.

Hello Russ,
I have just bought the 10' Loomis Franklin 3 pc Low mount - has a go of a mates on a recent trip - very nice, you can't go wrong with either a kingfisher or Loomis I reckon. Ive had a 12'6 stimulator I use with a emblem pro for salmon fish'n down here and it cast's a mile - able to set baits with it too if it's not too rough.
