Casting Around the Internet

The attached publication "Casting Around the Internet with Recfishwest" has details of some interesting fishing related articles found on the Internet.

The aim of these is to inform people of some of the things which affect recreational fishing.

The format is a heading, one or maximum two short sentences about the contents and a clickable link for you to go and read the full article for yourself.

The emphasis is on Western Australian topics - but doesn't exclude other significant or interesting articles when we find them.

The intention is to put out these publications regularly.

These will be emailed to members of Recfishwest, and to other people who register with Recfishwest.

Contact RFW recfish@recfishwest.org.au to register and receive a version with links that actually work.

Received it yesterday Terry ,

I was going to put a post up on what a good idea, and how it will help spread relevant and informative news .

But then I figured those that care would have it anyway.

Well done folks.

I paid up for 2 years .

The media release in the 2nd news letter on the Collie/ Wellington Basin has got me thinking there may be a door open for a recfishery of some description being developed .

Opportunities exist for private and public sector involvement in overall development ........ their words.

I can see it , I just need the money

Wont happen I know , but I can day dream on a rainy day off.

The latest C A t I is once again both informative and to a degree concerning.

Salmon being referred to as " rabbits of the sea ".

Massive amounts of antibiotics used in the penned salmon & trout industry.

Wilson Inlet size increases challenged by the commercials , while Recfish praise the new regulations

More plans to dredge Cockburn.

On the up side would be new jetties on the Swan & Canning being public.

Stats on released Yellow fin bream confirm C&R worth the effort with great survival rates.

All interesting reading , and helps keep fisher folks better informed .
