So after not winning on the Melbourne Cup, i decided to hit the river for a fish. Matty and i were watching the weather all day, and a window of oppurtunity appeared in the evening, so we went for it. Was an interesting night, caught a few smallish Black Bream straight of the bat. Caught a Tailor or two for bait. Had a livie out for most of the night, which, while looking very flighty at times, was actually released in healthy condition, even after spending a few hours with a 7/0 Nose ring! Was a lot of activity around, and i managed to get absolutely SMOKED twice on whole river prawns, first time scared the crap outta me. Also managed a solid hookup on a Bibless Minnow, but dropped the fish. At the end of the night when Matt and I were doing some exploring, and i was retreiving a lure, we heard a rucuss around from us, and some monumental splashing. As we sat and watched, a group of Dolphins proceeded to herd up some baitfish right before us, demolishing them in the shallow water!!! Was amazing to watch!! Heres a few snappies!! Nice plump little Blackie. Another little Bream, great little fish they are! Matty, always a great fishing buddy! Again, another beautiful night on the water, great company, and even between a few showers, was remarkably calm, despite the wind!
