Hey Fellas,

Decided to head out yesterday for a bit of a fish down Moore River and target some bream with some SPs and little Rapalas.

Weather was a little crappy to fish in but with 4 pound braid on a little stella 1000 I could have cast to the other side the tide was that low. Any way we started off with some little HBs and worked the rocks for about 3 seconds and WHAM!! twitching a floater across the surface..

I never thought I would catch a bream in that sort of style with the wind pumping at 20knots and choppy waters, So we didnt complain about this one. It was right on a drop off (They all came from the rocky drop offs)

Me and the old man had big smiles on our faces and were having a good yarn about it when Bang! another one, it wasnt me this time, the old man had hooked up on an SP, Almost lost it in the snag but got her out.

The blood was pumping now for we had 2 beauty size bream in less than 5 minutes from getting out the car.

It must have been a good half hour before we got the next, but it was worth the wait, just got her to 1.3kg on the little salter scale. After our ankles had enough of trekking the rocky country we settles for a few smallies on prawn.

I watched a show the other day and the boys were saying some mature bream take a good 20 odd years to grow so i released em all so they all still all swimming around joyfully, maybe with a small headache.

I added a pic on here from a couple of weeks ago too. Only the one decent fish that day.

But yesterday was a Great Days fishin.

Top stuff Justin. I have yet to nab a bream on a lure and sure it is a hoot when it happens.

Yeah they are surprisingly aggressive fish Rob, I am yet to figure out why they dont eat the lures at night.....Tried hundreds of casts around the same sorta structures and nothing...

Maybe they can see in the dark.

ever tried a lure with alot of silver on it, and glitter?? anything to maximise the visual appeal and take advantage of the any light .

What lures have been working for you?? poppers any good?

... and well done on the fish, sounds like a great little session you had!
