We should try and keep all these metro Tailor posts together, it's good to get a big thread going throughout the Summer.

Anyway, as Mr Fuller as shown of late, the North Metro beaches seem to be starting to fire up nicely. Picked up some good fish tonight during a very short bite that lasted only about 20 minutes - but hey, i aint complaining.

Kept these 4, bigger ones were pushing 50.

Cheers boys.

No balloons this time Smithy, all though i'm sure Matt will be sending some out before the summer is over.

We soaked some fillets into the night in the hope that the bities might show up but no luck this time, just the usual Shovellies and PJ's.

A mate did pick up a nize Bronzie at the same spot on Tuesday though.

Nice one Ian. I'm heading down in a couple hours for a late arvo fish with a couple mates. I'll be sure to post how it goes. I might even remember the camera this time.

No sign of the choppers yet from north Mandurah beaches, only a few small shovelies about last night after the moon started rising.

Might be time to start hitting Whitehills/Preston beaches to reduce my mulie stocks.

Hi George,

most Summer metro sharks we encounter are Bronzie's, Hammer heads and Long nose Grey's up to about a meter and a half - fun catching size. Last year there were heaps around the place.

Of course there is always the chance of a much bigger fish...

I did end up going out for a few hours yesterday for no tailor which we convinced ourselves was due to the easterlies . We managed to pull in 4 pike and other critters like buff bream, wrasse and trumpeters. In the calm conditions you could walk almost up to your waist to the edge of the reef, and some of the ledges/caves there looked like they'd be definitely home to some crays. Who knows...might pull a dhuie from there one day

Great start to the chopper season Ian.

We might even get Scotty to agree on a prize towards the end of summer awarded to the best bag or biggest tailor caught from Metro waters (sorry Rev but your SW entries can't count) and even pit north of the river against south in the catch stats.  At this stage the northern crew are leading the charge but there is a long way to go.

Another blatant example of " bugger you country folk."  Any way I have given up trying to win a RED cap from this mob.

Cheers  Rev.

I'd be prepared to reconsider your inclusion Rev if you can bake my favourite desert, lemon meringue pie!
