yes they have a comments/reply section i will be sending in a reply, and i encorage others to do the same, as this continual pro "pro fishing" is getting very tiresome....just make sure it is polite, concise, and well written, and it just may get published.... ( but with the current trend on things i doubt it, as it seems there is a definate loyalty towards the pros for some reason!!!) in my reply, i shall be covering many things, such as the fact that pro fishing is one of the only industries where you dont have to buy your stock....where they are making money out of something that is available freely to all.. i shall also be bringing up the subject they have raised about the price of fish going up, but relating it to us, the rec fisher.... the general public are being told their already expensive fresh local fish will become more expensive...well lets do some maths.... my boat cost me $26'500, i have spent another $4000 in a year to service, maintain, and new electrics..that takes me to around the $30,000 mark. in the 12 months i have had the boat, the boat has probably landed around 100kg of fish fillets ( split between myself and other deckies) so i have probably taken around 40kg of fillets.... so at this stage my fish has cost me around $750 a kilo, plus fuel, bait, boat licencing, trailer licencing, travel etc etc.....so more like around $800 plus a kilo.... it will take me up to 7 years of owning the boat, before the cost of my fish is equal to what the general public who buy their fish!!! and we are being made out to be getting away with the better deal????? i think the west australian need to wake up, and get the other halves story, before things get way out of hand....
