Well its finally happened
I had to go to Perth today and managed to find time to call in and see the new boat that Bec and I have ordered. Theres not much to see yet but the hull is in the mould, the floor/deck/gunwale is made and the subfloor grid is made and needs trimming and glassing into the hull.
Weve decided on an outboard, trailer and electronics and cant wait till next friday when we both get to go and have a look at our new toy.

Its a Peter Milner Yatchs Performance 25. According to the builders it is 8.1 metres long  including pod and bowspit, 2.4 metres wide and is around 1900 kilos without motors etc.We are putting a DF300 Suzuki on it , Furuno Navnet GPS,Furuno FCV 295 sounder and lots of other toys.
After a lot of looking around and pricing different trailers we decided on an Aluminium I beam style with bunks. It worked out cheaper than most of the better quality galvanised trailers and will save around 300 kilos which will bring us a fair bit under the 3500 kilo tow weight.
All going well she will be in the water in early December
We are going back to have another look in a week or so and then again 2 weeks after that so we will get some more pics of the build process..

We had a look Friday morning and everything is going well. The hull is glassed up and still in the mould waiting for the stringer grid to be glassed in, the gunwale/deck section is out of the mould, the console is out of the mould and the guys where doing the helm seat/esky when we called in.
It all looks pretty good, cant wait till tuesday week when Bec gets a few more pics for me to drool over

My daughter over from Queensland checking out the new toy

Are these based of the Formula 233 hull Ben? I think there's one simular to yours up here -  I think its called still chopping up with a Verado on the back. Nice looking boats.

Cheers

Luke, from what I can make out it is the same hull as the formula 233. They are a good looking boat for sure and ride extremely well, bit rocky on the drift but we anchor most of the time or a sea anchor tends to lock the boat down and not let it rock so much. Its a small price to pay for such an awsum ride though.
There is at least a couple of boat builders in the states that still make the same hull and one in the Eastern states that I could find. The one over east doesnt do a centre console and the US builder that is available through a dealer in WA only has a 24 footer with a stern drive under the console which would ride really really well but you dont have any underfloor storage and the price was a bit over the top.
We looked at a heap of big centre console boats and this was the one that we could get that was built locally and could customise to suit what we want.

Things are moving along nicely now. I spoke to the guys at PMY yesterday and the deck is in the hull now  We are off to Perth tuesday to pick up the trailer and all the lovely Furuno gear and drop in to see the boat.
The next issue to deal with is digging up all the pavers on one side of the driveway and down the side of the house and dropping it all 300 mm or so to get the boat in

Our motor on display at Mandurah
