Paul I have a 4.55M Centre Console, had it a little over 3 years and was bought new. I wouldnt go for anything else now. I have a fairly bad back and found when out in an Ali boat I could hardly walk the next day, with a Polycraft have no problems at all. All my mates cant believe how soft the ride is. They are a little heavier that Aluminium boats and Lighter than Glass boats. The boats themselves are very stable, my 2 sons and I can comfortably fish from one side with know worries. Have had a few big scratches in the side which I have fixed with a industrial heat gun. Some people question the longativity of a plastic boat, I dont have a problem with this at all. Any other questions fire away

Yeah i've got a 5.3CC with a 150 Suzuki 4 stroke.

Great hull got 500 hours on mine now with no problems. Tracks straight in any direction, but can be a little wet at times.

Cheers

Hi Paul,

We have a 4.55 centre console and love it.
They are a very soft riding hull and compare well to any boat in its size.  Being plastic they are virtually
Indestructible  and if you do happen to scar one (the hull is 1cm thick so it would have to be a deep scar to really worry about it) they can be fixed with a heat gun or take it to a plastic welder.
As a fishing boat they are the ducks guts.  No worries with people banging snapper sinkers agains the edge, no worries if a something metal gets left under the floor.

As mentioned they are a slightly heavier hull than aluminium but we have no worries beach launching ours at the blowholes (retrieve with a drop down wheel on a stub axle on the drawbar) with one vehicle.

Have a look at the polyboat owners forum that has been mentioned, they are all passionate poly lovers and will be glad to help out with any specifics.

One last thing, if you do go down the poly road make sure you put the maximum horses on the back or they will struggle with a full load.

Regards,

Russell

Definitely dont skimp on the horsepower, plenty of dealers will downsize the donk to make the package cheaper ie; 4.55 mt polys with 30 hp motors, wont even plane. It would pay to go near the max tested hp on the compliance plate, Ex Polyboat owner, cheers.
As for ride , Great just a little tubbish when you try and stand and bring a fish in, they need a handrail or something on the gunwhales to lean on.
Anyone interested in a new 4.1 foamfilled hull only, never fitted out and hire boat company in town now shut because of skipper licenses?
