Up to $200,000 in project funding is up for grabs for agencies working to improve the health of the Swan River. Through the Swan Canning Research and Innovation Program (SCRIP), the Swan River Trust will award grants to successful applicants to work in partnership with the Trust on river health issues. Trust acting chairman Jim Fremantle said SCRIP had been designed to bridge critical gaps in knowledge as one of the eight key action areas under the award-winning Healthy Rivers Program. Projects should address the SCRIP priority areas of fish and aquatic fauna, aquatic flora, catchment and estuary issues, climate change and decision support systems.
Expressions of interest will be evaluated by the Trust’s Technical Advisory Panel, a group of 15 leading Western Australian scientists with expertise in river-related issues.
Project submissions close December 15. For more information visit www.swanrivertrust.wa.gov.au, or contact the Trust on 9278 0900.
