A friend just cam eback from Rottnest and told me;

The Tea Rooms at Thompsons bay are closed indefinately.

The Dome over the dive shop is closed and has been relocated elsewhere, without a view over Thompsons Bay.

The dive shop is shutting down and will not be replaced.

If this is truely the state of affairs, we need to get someone with local knowledge in the decision making process - how can one of the best dive locations, possibly in the world, not have a dive shop?!

Hopefully my information is wrong.

Hi Steve

I was over there 10 days ago. The building that had the Dome with the dive shop underneith has been demolished. Word has it that the Dome will relocate in the future. Not sure where. No idea about the dive shop. The pub is also undergoing major construction works but is still open for business and s still serving meals. If you are chasing a coffee, the bakery is kitted up to cash in on the absence of the Dome

Ya must have walked aroudn the Island lookgn at teh floor Smithy?

That big new construction works behind where the old Dome was with the big "DOME" logo out the front is wehre the new one is going. About twice as big as it was before. Iv been told the dive shop will relocate to the rear of the new building. Tearooms will be open once it warms up a bit.

The reno works on the Quokka arms, is coming along. Looking prety good and the fact that the guys are woking on it on the weekends means the owners want it finisehd sooner rather than later

Roll on arvos at the Quokka arms after having my arms streched by sambos.

Fraze and Mark are on the money, also the dive shop and tearooms are currently open for tender so they'll obviously be around in the future.
