G'day fella's,
Ive been experimenting with different knots for joining my nylon coated stainless to mono for big tailor/sharks when chasing Mulla's - I'm testing a modified albright that has a 2 times feed thru at the end to stop it slipping under heavy load - any idea's?

Played around a little with a similar concept for a while. Was having trouble with jigs being bitten off. I didnt like putting the sharp bend in the wire. Didnt have any failures but couldnt get the knot to sit flat.

There is a knotable wire available called Tiger wire (maybe Tyger or similar) that might be better suited to what you are looking for.

Cheers Jon,
I will look into that - the wire forms the loop in my knot then the mono does the loops around and out the wire loop - are you wrapping the wire around the mono single loop? - I had one crack at that and it wasn't pretty, I have had some success with a uni to uni - 3 wraps with the wire and 4 with the mono and it seems strong but tends to damage both the wire and mono sometimes.

Was using the wire as the single loop.
Not saying it wont work. I just gave up trying to make it work.

Chris , I have used this knot for many years. It has never let me down, and rarely twists up. Hope you get the gist of the pic.

Cheers   Rev.

Thanks Rev - looks good to me, I'll go home and give it a crack - what wire/mono do you use? Ive been using 60lb Halco stainless and 55lb Schneider. - Nice Tailor haul the other day! I was hunt'n for occy's near Prev on Sat morning and there was a nice looking Tailor wash out front that I'm gonna have throw a popper around one morning when the swell drops.

what wire/mono do you use?

Halco 40 lb plastic coated wire , and 40 lb nylon. When I go north chasing the bigger ones I upgrade to 60 lb on both. I even use 10 lb on both when chasing skippy (just in case a tailor or 2 turn up )

Cheers  Rev.

Cheers Rev - similar to Ross down in Augusta  - he reckons the 40lb has never let him down and is easier to tie the uni to uni with, only uses once - strips the rig down and re-ties before each session.
