Fraser, as mentioned I headed down to the beach with it yesterday to give it a try. It wasn't the best conditions. Swell up, nasty winter surge, and casting into the wind. In fact I had to give up on the plastics and switch to slices -of which I lost two.

It's not an ideal bream rod. Too gutsy and a bit short if you need to cast a long way or for firing out tiny lures.
For shorter casts and heavier weights though, it'll do nicely. Hard to judge firing into the wind, but I reckon 1/4 ounce was about right on 4kg Fireline. Not much chop for long firing little 2g lures though if that's what you want it for.
