I wish it was a joke

Read this from the site

Fishing Sucks!

Fishing is boring, absolutely boring, just plain boring and just plain dumb. Most people fish because they are scared of the water, the animals and just don't understand how it all works down there. If they did then they would not inflict such cruelty on the animals.

Why sit uptop and dangle a hook doing the lucky dip thing, when you can get in amongst it and experience the animals in their world. It is astounding how much money some people spend to come here to see and catch a fish, when all you have to do is get in and go down and you can see and experience more fish and marine life than most people will see it their whole life. Not only tha,t but it's a whole lot more exciting, and the animals are left there for the next person to experience.

It's only a matter of time until the "lucky dip people" on the Ningaloo Reef and in Western Australia realize that there is much more money in showing people the animals than killing them. Killing & attacking the marine life will become like smoking- a bit silly.

Who would of said ten years ago that smoking will be stopped in Pubs, attacking the marine life for no other reason than for fun will go the same way.

Fishing is feeding the marine animals and conditioning sharks to associate boats and people with food. As more & more people come to Ningaloo Reef and get in the water to view the marine life, fishing bodies and operators may find themselves in court dealing with a shark attack victim's family, ie "the day defore you were fishing and feeding sharks near the local dive site - snorkel area were the shark victim was taken".

Times are changing!

Then have alook at the link above

Its not a joke unfortunately

Well, thats a good idea!

If we are not allowed to fish in these zones that Kelly and her crew now occupy- Is there anything in the regulations about sitting in a boat and berlying up whenever www.exmouthdiving.net is about?

After all- you would only be feeding the fish, something that Kelly does all the time by pulling sea urchins off the reef

A nice bloody chum slick would increase the chances of her divers have a close encouter they never dreamed of

April Fool's Joke????

If anyone thinks this is an April Fools' Day joke and we rec anglers should just chill out and laugh at it - See the list at http://www.google.com.au/search?q=+site:www.ningalooreefteach.com++%22ningalooreefteach%22&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&start=0&sa=N and read the "cached pages" versions.

The "fishing sucks" page was listed on the home page on that website yesterday 31 March at about 12 noon WAST when Google searched the site. It says:-

"This is G o o g l e's cache of http://www.ningalooreefteach.com/ as retrieved on 31 Mar 2005 04:08:40 GMT. G o o g l e's cache is the snapshot that we took of the page as we crawled the web."

Even if this particular "fishing sucks" page was put on as an April Fools Day joke, it went on an absolute minimum of 12 hours earlier and could have been put on any day after the last Google crawl through the site a week ago.

AND many of the other anti-fishing pages were there on the website the week before - where the Google cached dates are 24 March 2005. And some are dated 2004 - so they aren't new.

Hi Mike

If you visit www.exmouthdiving.net it seems to suggest that that Wags and Kelly own and run it.

I think what Brian was refering to was that there are other operators in town that can do the pier dives and it is well worth the while to find the right operator

But I could be wrong?

quote:

Another young life has been lost in a shark attack and once again hunting down the animal responsible is a knee- jerk reaction by authorities. What is needed is for the public to understand why shark attacks are on the rise. The Houtman Abrolhos Islands are 60km offshore. While they boast incredible diving and snorkelling opportunities, swimmers are literally jumping into an environment in the middle of the open ocean, which for years been harvested by the commercial fishing industry. Fishing attracts sharks. Bait and berley are thrown into the water, struggling fish are pulled from the water onto boats and fish blood and offal is washed from the decks back into the sea. Over- fishing depletes natural food sources of large sharks, forcing them to consider alternatives.

Another gem from the site.

Is there nothing that they won't try and pin on fishing (either commercial or recretional)??

Clearly this tragic incident could'nt concievably be as a result of mistaken identity on behalf of the shark or just plain being in the wrong place at the wrong time...no the dastardly fisherman are to blame again.

Perhaps if the authors pull their self righteous heads out of their ****s they will come to the obvious conclusion that as long as people swim in waters that have sharks in them there will sometimes be shark attacks.

The other guys may be www.exmouthdiving.com.au

It is possible the www.exmouthdiving.com.au has had their good name sullied by these two- I wonder if they know about the extremist views that could be associated with their name and possibly affect their business

Just checked out "www.fishinghurts.com". Had a good old giggle to myself. These people need phycologist, not a web site.

Will be careful who i hire my dive gear off when Im up there in July. Wouldn't trust anyone with there reality so far out of wack, to supply me dive gear.

Exmouth Dive is owned and operated by a top bloke (Dave) who likes to dangle a line as well. Don't mistake his operation for the ramblings of Kelly.

Unfortunately our town has suffered too many outsiders coming in wanting to change things to suit themselves and will to tell lies to turn a profit.

Kelly I once thought you were straight up, but having read your blatant lies my opinion is totally changed. Think again next time you sit down to a juicy steak. Did it die of natural causes or did it die by human intervention? I can only suppose that the shell necklace you wear is either artificial or made from shells found so far from the water as to make them unsuitable habitat for crabs etc. Why does the word 'Hypocrit' keep coming to mind?

I challenge you to state your case to us in 'facts' and to remove the lies from your site.

Ok I'm a little confused still

We have two sites

www.exmouthdiving.net

and

www.exmouthdiving.com.au

The first site is Kelly and Wags' site the second seems to be a legitimate dive company based in Exmouth

Can someone please clarify which company Dave owns?
